Welcome to Serenate. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Serenate mobile application (the “App”).

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Serenate is designed to be a private mindfulness companion. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal identifiable data to use the core features of the App. All of your meditation history, tracking, bookmarks, and settings are stored locally on your device.

2. Information We Do Collect (Third-Party Services)

To keep the app sustainable, stable, and running smoothly, we use a few carefully selected third-party services that may collect certain device or diagnostic information:

• Google AdMob: We use AdMob to serve occasional advertisements to users who opt-in to support the developer. AdMob may use device advertising identifiers and other non-personal metrics to serve ads. You can limit ad tracking or opt out of personalized advertising through your iOS or Android device settings.
• Firebase Crashlytics: We use Crashlytics to monitor the app’s stability and identify bugs. If the App crashes, an anonymous crash report is sent to us so we can fix the issue. These reports contain diagnostic information about the crash, the operating system version, and the device state, but they do not contain personal user data.

3. How We Use Your Information

The anonymous diagnostic data and usage metrics collected by our third-party services are used solely to:

• Identify, diagnose, and fix bugs or performance issues.
• Serve advertisements to help fund the App’s ongoing development and hosting costs.

4. Data Security

We are committed to protecting the limited diagnostic data we receive. All data transmitted to Google’s Firebase and AdMob services is encrypted in transit and follows Google’s stringent security and privacy standards.

5. Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to external websites (such as a GitHub repository, Google Forms for feedback, or a Ko-fi donation page). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these external sites once you leave the Serenate app domain.

6. Children’s Privacy

Serenate does not knowingly collect any personal data from children under the age of 13. Given the anonymous, local-first nature of the App, we do not require or collect age verification.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to account for new features or SDKs. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
